Benny Lopez, 70, was born and raised in Slaton and has proudly called the community home for more than 60 years. He is one of twelve children born to Fred and Maria Lopez and grew up with strong family values and a deep appreciation for community.
Benny has been married to his wife, Dolores, for 20 years. Together they have built a strong family that includes three children — two sons and one daughter — along with four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Family remains one of the most important parts of his life and continues to motivate his commitment to serving the community he has always called home.
Public Service
Benny has dedicated more than 20 years of service to the citizens of Slaton as a member of the City Council and currently serves as Mayor Pro-Tem. Throughout his years of service, he has remained committed to representing the community, supporting the growth of the city, and helping improve the quality of life for Slaton residents. His long-standing involvement and dedication to public service reflect his continued pride in serving the city he has called home his entire life.
